The classroom teacher is responsible for the delivery of grade-level curriculum and for differentiating instruction. Familiarity with standard-based education and mastery of technology skills are required. Self reflection skills, data analysis competencies, and the ability to effectively collaborate with others are essential. The successful candidate will have the ability to work well with students, parents, colleagues and community members. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. A bachelor's degree and an appropriate Massachusetts teaching license are required; a master's degree is preferred.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate proficiency in conducting:
- Concert Band
- Jazz Ensemble
- Pep Band
- Orchestral ensemble (preferred)

  Charles River Wind Ensemble
Charles River Wind Ensemble (CRWE)

CRWE is a 40 piece wind ensemble composed of high level amateur musicians and some music professionals performing challenging music from the wind ensemble repertoire as well as carefully selected transcriptions from the orchestral repertoire. Membership in the ensemble is by audition. In its 13 year existence, CRWE earned a reputation as one of the finest wind ensembles in New England.

CRWE rehearses weekly Sept-June (Tuesday evenings in Watertown) and gives three performances a year (December, March, June in Newton). It is a non-profit voluntary organization funded primarily by member contributions and donations. Its mission is promoting the performance, appreciation, and composition of classical and contemporary wind ensemble music.

This is a part time position. CRWE is seeking a conductor with energy and experience to bring an appropriate combination of satisfaction and challenge to this ensemble.

Job Responsibilities:

Selecting repertoire for concert programs
Auditioning potential new ensemble members
Conducting weekly rehearsals, dress rehearsals and concerts
Regular communication with officers and key Board members about CRWE operational issues (music, attendance, rehearsal plans) as needed, including attendance at Board meetings when appropriate Additional services as appropriate (such as helping to find ringers when needed, participating in other events such as Festival of Bands in future years) Helping CRWE to establish an Assistant Conductor position and mentoring an Assistant Conductor

Selection Process:

CRWE is seeking to fill the position during the fall of 2011. Please note that the CRWE Search Committee will provide a CD of selected performances to some candidates, and that some candidates will be auditioned in the fall - invited to meet with and conduct the ensemble – prior to making a hiring decision.

Job Description/Responsibilities
This liturgical musician position will continue to develop our vibrant music tradition and foster the congregation's full participation in the liturgy. The person needs to have knowledge of traditional and contemporary liturgical music; have the ability to work with people of all ages and abilities; preferably, be of the Catholic faith; and must have strong organizational skills.

The Music Director should be proficient in at least one accompanying instrument, have knowledge of group vocal techniques, and knowledge of choral conducting. The Director will accompany and direct choirs, including a children's choir and a possible group ensemble. He/she must play at three to four weekend masses and other significant services associated with church life. The person will also work in consort with the Christian Formation Program to enhance it musically.

Most importantly, the Director will be responsible for organizing programs and rehearsals of all music groups, schedule music ministers (cantors, choirs, etc.) and ensure appropriate music for all liturgical functions.

Qualifications
Bachelors and/or Master's Degree in Music or appropriate field preferable
